Cultural Institute

The Institute of Culture (Capital Cultural Development Research Center), formerly known as the Literary Theory Research Office, was established in 1978 and is one of the four earliest research offices established by the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences. In 1986, it was renamed the Institute of Literature. In order to strengthen the research on the capital’s culture and better serve the capital’s cultural construction, in 1997, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Organization and Establishment Committee Office, the Capital Cultural Development Research Center was established and affiliated with the Institute of Literature. In 2011, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Organization and Establishment Committee Office, the Institute of Literature was renamed the Institute of Culture, retaining the name of the Capital Cultural Development Research Center, further clarifying and expanding the research responsibilities of the Institute of Culture (Capital Cultural Development Research Center), and the Capital Cultural Development Research Center was affiliated with the Institute of Culture. Over the past 30 years, the director and deputy director of the Institute of Culture (Capital Cultural Development Research Center), the director and deputy director of the center, and the scientific researchers have been forging ahead, constantly innovating, publishing and publishing a large number of academic achievements and writing a large number of research reports, making important achievements in the academic development of the institute and the decision-making of relevant government departments, and laying a solid foundation for the future development of the institute.
